Some you win, some you lose

Frankly, seems like we didn’t lose much. Just small amount of money, tens of hours of time, too many bears, couple bottles of scotch, few nerves, picks, strings, hair, and a Laney Klipp. Well, the Laney may be recoverable and has already suffered quite a bit so it can’t be lost — not yet, at least — but all else… tolerable. But, as I like to think of it, the year 2012 brought us mainly wins. After all, personally, I’m pleased. (I hope you’re with me in this one, guys.)

To be precise, the album Emersion was a success. No, it didn’t bring us wealth nor loads of cash, but it brought us more than we expected. We expected little, but what we got was… not that little. The feedback has been mind blowing. Especially the reviews, and after some countless nice words said about us, I cannot be but thankful. For all of you supporters and reviewers: thank you. This has been a blast!

We’ll see what the year 2013 will bring us, but the bar really has been lift high.

Emersion — release the fumes!

The physical copies of our records have finally arrived, and behalf of our band I am happy to announce that the record will surely be released on the forthcoming Saturday 6.10.2012.

Emersion draws thick grey lines between borders of alternative music. Meditative psychedelia and spacey soundscapes are both present on this new album which continues the journey of Sons of Kings. The creation is served in two parts, and with even more low frequencies with additional bass player, which renders the original trio into a quartet. The ambitious plan behind Emersion is to connect the dots between soundtrack-like atmospheres, non-typical progressions, kraut-continuity, stoner-fuzz, and post rock mentality. The outcome is, at least, an alternative way to approach the music.

The record will be streaming for free til October 7th. Decision was made, that the record will be streaming at our Bandcamp site until further notice.

New album — ready to be released

“The end draws near…”

We are about to end the long last process of finalizing our new album Emersion. The physical copies of it will soon be in our hands. Then, there is just couple more things to do, and we are finally ready for the releasing and the gig which follows (6.10.2012 @ Klubi Live, Turku).
